HISTORY of the Xenaversity:

In March of 1998 after connecting online, a small group of rag tag dreamers in the Minnesota Twin Cities area got together to celebrate their love for the show Xena: Warrior Princess, and thus the Xenaversity of Minnesota (XOM) was born. The members, known as XOMbies, met at various members' homes for episode viewings, show and tell of our Xena memorabilia, watching music videos, and sharing enthusiasm for the show we couldn't get enough of. With growing membership, the meetings were eventually moved to the Roseville Library conference room. XOM also became more structured by electing club officials (Regents) and drawing up a club charter.

One Xenaversity mission is to keep the spirit of X:WP alive! XOM does this by participating in many local events including Pride parades with Xena theme floats, and holding Xena theme room parties at Sci Fi conventions. Over ten years later we continue our mission online, in our community, and at annual Xena conventions.

Another important mission of the club is our Greater Good. Over the years the Xenaversity has raised thousands of dollars with various sales and fund-raisers. One of our most notable was the auction of our giant autograph banner. Hailed as the most autographed piece in Xena fandom, it held over 200 signatures from the cast and crew of X:WP including Lucy, Renee, and Rob. The banner raised $13,000!! Sales of our Xena Silent Movie and Xena Silent Western movie also raised a considerable amount of money for charity.

Along with monetary donations, XOM has volunteered HUNDREDS of hours in time. Cleaning up our little stretch of road with Adopt A Highway, working for the Human Rights Campaign, and making blankets each year for the Project Linus, are just a few.

This fan club is something we are all VERY proud of! The Xenaversity of Minnesota: A fan club of the fans, for the fans, by the fans!
